Retina.AI is a cloud-based ophthalmology platform that represents an online service built on artificial intelligence technologies for detecting signs of diabetic
retinopathy and diabetic macular edema. The service is deployed based on data collected in real-life clinical conditions.
How does Retina.AI service work?
Retina.AI, a cloud-based ophthalmology platform, is designed to analyze colored fundus photographs and scans of structural optical coherence tomography (OCT) using
machine learning algorithms and detect signs of diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema and age-related macular degeneration (OCT analysis module is currently
under development). After uploading the image, the system performs its preliminary processing, analysis, highlights the areas that the doctor needs to pay attention
to, and automatically generates a comprehensive report with information about the study.
How accurate does Retina.AI service work?
Currently, we are conducting clinical trials of the service on the premises of several clinical centers. As soon as the results of clinical trials are processed, we
will make them available to our users.
2. Use of Retina.AI
What equipment is required to use Retina.AI service?
Retina.AI service is designed to process fundus photographs taken with a Fundus camera. To increase the accuracy of diagnosis, it is recommended to upload photographs
taken in at least two fields of the fundus: 1 - centered on the macula, 2 - centered on the optic disk (see the requirements for fundus photographs). Currently,
structural OCT scans analysis module is under development.
What software is required to use Retina.AI service?
Retina.AI service is developed with the use of cloud technologies, therefore it is available to everyone who has a PC, smartphone or tablet with Internet access. No
additional software is required.
How long does it take to get a result?
Average waiting time for processing of the fundus photograph by Retina.AI service - 30 seconds. The speed of image processing also depends on your Internet
connection: if it is slow or unstable, the waiting time may slightly increase.
What are the fundus images requirements?
Fundus images must not contain the patient's personal data (last name, first name, date of birth, diagnosis, etc.), as well as information constituting a state
secret, medical secret and other information protected by law;
- Images format: RGB color images;
- Minimum image resolution: 480x480 pixels;
- Supported image formats: .jpeg, .png, .bmp;
For analysis, at least one fundus image centered on the macula and one image centered on the optic disc is required, the center of the macula and the optic disc
must be visible and clearly distinguishable in the image.
The presence of artifacts in fundus images, poor image quality due to clouding of the optical media, or other reasons can adversely affect the operation of the
program and lead to false results. The user is responsible for the quality and compliance with the requirements of images.
How much does it cost to use Retina.AI service?
We are currently conducting beta testing of a cloud-based ophthalmology platform, Retina.AI, and its use is free. Since the project is currently funded by the
founders' personal finances, we will be grateful for any financial assistance (see "Share Fundus Image / OCT scan" section). Use of Retina.AI service is only allowed

Can the result of Retina.AI analysis be interpreted as the diagnosis?
No, the result of the Retina.AI service analysis is not considered a diagnosis. The digital cloud-based ophthalmology platform Retina.AI provides assistance to
doctors in detecting signs of the disease by identifying them and their location. On the basis of the data collected, Retina.AI service gives an opportunity to
generate a report of the study. It is a doctor's responsibility to make the right diagnosis.

disorders. You can share the data with us through the section

very grateful for that contribution.

4. Privacy and security
Is the use of Retina.AI service safe?
The use of Retina.AI digital cloud-based ophthalmology platform is safe. Encrypting data during transfer ensures that third parties will not receive access to your
data. We do not store users' data.
Do you store photographs, uploaded to Retina.AI service?
No, we do not store the data that you upload to the service. Nevertheless, if you wish to voluntarily share your photographs with us, then simply confirm the
possibility of contributing your images to our research while using the service. We will use the received images to improve the service algorithms. You can also share
with us anonymized fundus photographs and OCT scans through the section
"Share fundus Image / OCT scan ". We would highly appreciate your help – together we will make the service better!
What can I do, if I have problems with the service?
If the service does not work correctly, you cannot upload a photograph, or you experience a long waiting time and do not receive the result of data processing, please
contact us through the

definitely consider your request and get in touch as soon as possible.
What can I do, if after uploading the photograph, hourglass icon comes up, the window becomes unresponsive and the screening result does not appear?
The service may not work properly with AdBlock enabled. Disable it and try to upload the image again. Furthermore, long download time may be related to the stability
and speed of your Internet connection. In this case, for the proper work of the service, you will need to provide a better quality Internet connection.
